An electronic programme guide, or EPG, lists channels, programme titles and scheduled times. It helps you decide what to watch without opening each channel. For UK IPTV viewers, useful listings depend on the guide data, the app and the correct time settings.
What an EPG normally provides
A guide may show the current programme, the next programme and a schedule for a defined period. Descriptions, artwork and search can be available, but vary by provider and app. A channel being playable does not guarantee complete guide information.
Ask whether the guide is included with your chosen service and whether the recommended player displays it. The iTelevo feature checklist lists TV Guide / EPG; confirm coverage for the channels that matter to you.
Do not confuse guide listings with catch-up
An EPG tells you when something is scheduled. It does not automatically grant replay, recording or catch-up access. Those features depend on the service, rights, app and account entitlement.
If a guide shows yesterday's programmes, that does not necessarily mean they can be watched. Confirm the feature rather than assuming a selectable listing is a recording.
Check UK time settings carefully
Set the device's region, date, time and time zone correctly. Prefer automatic time where supported. UK schedules change between GMT and British Summer Time, so a fixed manual offset can create a one-hour discrepancy.
Do not repeatedly adjust multiple offsets at once. Check the device time first, then the app's guide settings, then the guide source. Note whether every channel is affected or only a small group.
When information is missing
Allow the supported app to refresh its guide using the provider's instructions. Check whether a refresh completed and whether there is a service incident. Avoid deleting and recreating your entire account configuration as the first step.
If only particular channels lack listings, record their exact names and the period affected. Guide data may be incomplete even when the video source works.
Report a guide problem effectively
Send support the app and device model, software version, channel name, expected programme time and a screenshot with account details removed. Say whether the problem is a time offset, missing data or an incorrect programme title.
You can review installation guidance for app setup and device compatibility guidance if the player behaves differently on another screen.
Remember that schedules can change
Live events and broadcaster changes can alter a schedule at short notice. Treat listings as programme information, not a promise that an event will always start at the printed time. Rights and availability remain separate from the presence of an EPG listing.
